why can't parents realise the umbilical cord was cut years ago?

Parents. At what point do they take the training wheels off? It's like no matter where you are in life, your Mum or Dad is always running behind you, arms stretched out panicking over every wobbly move and shake you make. So i'm not the carbon copy you might have intended. But that's ok. Take the pressure off Mum and Dad. Off me. And off you. You got me here, now I'll do the rest. Falls and scrapes. Disappointments and mistakes. They're all mine. So let me stack it every now and then. The only mistake in life is not making any. So let it go. Hands off the seat.

LOOK MA, NO UMBILICAL CORD!!!!

why can't all disputes be resolved by rock, paper, scissors?

imagine how stress free the world would be if all disputes were resolved by a good old game of paper, rock, scissors. Wanna start a war? Fine! Choose your weapon... rock, paper or scissors. He who wins wins the war. Got a dispute with the neighbour over volume? Rock, paper, scissor it. Someone pushing in line at the cinemas? you guessed it, rock, paper, scissors. What the world needs is zero fights and more rock, paper, scissors.

why don't career counselors suggest backpacking as a viable career option?

remember back in school when you'd be forced to visit the career's counselor? supposedly doing a 10 minute multiple choice test somehow unlocked your future. When we did it, most of the guys in my year were told to become accountants, or tradesmen, maybe one or two were told to be lawyers. Not one of us was told to go and see the world. To go and live. To date a few naughty girls. To leave a trail of broken hearts across Europe. None of us were told to be artists. or jugglers. or writers. None of us were told to follow our passions. Why not? Why aren't we told to take up backpacking as a career. Suck the marrow out of life. What we need is life advice with zero boring recommendations.
