why can't a grunt...

why can't a grunt be considered a well thought out commentary on what was just discussed?

"What did you think of the movie?" Grunt
"what should we have for dinner?" Grunt
"what do you wanna do tonight?" Grunt

Sometimes an emphatic grunt is all that's needed.
Don't believe me, ask someone. If they grunt, i'm right.
