why don't career counselors suggest backpacking as a viable career option?
remember back in school when you'd be forced to visit the career's counselor? supposedly doing a 10 minute multiple choice test somehow unlocked your future. When we did it, most of the guys in my year were told to become accountants, or tradesmen, maybe one or two were told to be lawyers. Not one of us was told to go and see the world. To go and live. To date a few naughty girls. To leave a trail of broken hearts across Europe. None of us were told to be artists. or jugglers. or writers. None of us were told to follow our passions. Why not? Why aren't we told to take up backpacking as a career. Suck the marrow out of life. What we need is life advice with zero boring recommendations.

any counsellors out there care to answer that?
