Why not live for a living?

I've always heard about having these lists to do before you die and they always seem to be for people who feel their live is already over, like it's a catch up or a last minute cram for life. But why wait til you feel death approaching before you think you start living? I say do things while you're young. Skydive before you need a hip replacement.

Obviously I'm not alone in this train of thought as the web's got heaps of list of things to do before you are 30 online. Google the topic and you'll find heaps.

Of course I say take a sick of the cubicle day too. I keep thinking the 20s are my chance to do something. I kinda feel that I'm still able to get away with stuff without being looked down on (too much). But i still feel the stank breath of responsibility and the need to "grow up" baring down on me. But why can't I just say no to all the grow up pressures and live my life?

Yes, I too felt the breath of responsibility on the back of my neck. At 41 I am starting again and I have a new motto - growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional. Life is the longest thing any of us will ever experience, no one has the right to expect you to give away more of it than you want to. Just accept that what people think of you doesn't matter, so lighten up and enjoy the ride, wherever life takes you!
